The BICS dealers room was busy on Saturday & Sunday, the recession may have bitten some sectors but the show was still.
There were great deals to be had, a wide variety of products for sale and lots of publishers showing off new products.
The great John Higgins spent the weekend meeting and signing for fans on the Com.X stand.
 
 
Paul H. Birch got up close and personal with Howard Chaykin, discussing the living legends life, career and influences. The driving force behind Black Kiss and American Flagg was popular and entertaining.
 
Every year Genki Gear produce new and exciting designs, if you like striking designs that are good quality and unusual then pay them a visit.

Tim Pilcher chaired a discussion between representatives of the retail, publishing and distribution professions. At the end all seemed to have a very bright view of the future of comic book industry.

 
 
Towering over the room was a stunning Optimus Prime statue which had been brought from Ireland by Robosteel (www.robosteel.com). It was only when you got up close that you realised it was made of recycled metal and weighed in excess of 550kg. A whole range of sculptures had been laid out on a table next to the statue and the attention to details on those was just as meticulous.
We are sure we never saw escalators on the Death Star!
Even Darth Vadar is a comic book fan... We bet he came for Chaykin!
