Jordan-X Release Fundraiser Edition:

TALES FROM A WARPED MIND

JORDAN-X has reached into the archives and released ‘Tales From A Warped Mind’ to raise funds for the fledgling CBA.

Originally slated to be released and edited by a number of publishers, most of which backed out because of controversial content.  Jordan-X have repackaged the collection of short stories, articles and scripts by CBA founder GM Jordan and added some of the photographs he has been quietly selling around the world.  The book is available to download through both Jordanx.co.uk and myebook.com, with Jordan donating a 3rd of the cover price to the CBA.  “We all have to do what we can to support the causes we believe in and as one of the founders it is my duty to do my best.” Jordan explains.

Some of the stories have already appeared in titles by NYK Media and Insomnia Publications, immensely popular and enjoyed by fans of all ages, this is the book fans never thought they would see.  Too many obstacles stood in the way of it being printed and there doesn’t appear to be a UK publisher with the ability to try but when Dark Island suggested Jordan make it available for electronic books everything fell into place.  “I had spoken to Sy at Myebook.com before and I knew how good his website was so we tried it there.  The preview version got a few hits so it made sense to put up the full version.”

The stories included are a real mixture, some will have you crying with laughter like ‘Reminiscing’ or ‘A Scot in Illinois’, others will bring a lump to your throat like ‘Alone’ or ‘At The End of the Day’.  Not all the stories work, ‘Jimmy’ feels rushed and ‘On The Edge’ feels out of place, ‘Warning: Free Thinkers’ needs expanding and would make an excellent play or television play.

For £2.49 the book is good value for money and with £1.00 going to the CBA.  You can certainly see why Jordan has been cult hit in Scotland and Canada, his dry wit and ability to bring a lump to your throat makes him a real talent that so far has been untapped by the major media outlets.  These are early offerings but there are some recent gems, ‘I Am Dead’ will make the hairs on the back of your neck crawl and ‘Death in Therapy‘ may be predictable but it will make you laugh and is not very politically correct, the downside of the story is that it is too short.
